I thought making my own beats was going to be easy, wrong!

So, I want to make beats! After being at the club with my boyz earlier this year I finally broke down while watching the DJ have his way with the crowd and watching them go NUUUTTSSSS on the dancefloor. After his set I asked the DJ “where the heck are you getting all your dubs made some of those remixes were just wicked” He smirks and say’s “Would you believe I did them all with a lil’ $40 standalone beat maker?” At the time I knew there was cubase, protools, and others that cost a lot, so did DJ gear, so I always shied away from making beats because of the costs - $40? Wtf – “ok can you tell me what it is?” “DUBturbo – it’s basically a sequencer, a sampler, a 16 track mixer, a drum machine, and a keyboard all in one with thousands of samples and voxes and wicked sounds” hmmmmm, so THAT’S how he was doing it….

Went home, turned on the PC, started reading and listening to the dubturbo demo’s and was rather shocked. “Wtf, how are they doing all this for $40 – it must be crap – but that DJ had it and there’s tons of buzz out there…meh I’ll spring the $40 they have a refund policy and to be honest the thing looks like it’s worth at least a few hundred so I’d probably have sprung at least $100 for it (If you guys ever read this, DUBturbo staff, you should raise the price a bit it just makes people think ‘it must be crap if it costs so little’… then again you got me, I did buy it and even got the extra stuff… anyway kudos on the kits they slam!).

Ok so now a few months have passed, I’ve been cracking out hiphop, r&b, reggae, even some jungle after watching the tutorial videos… Oh recently even made a nice house track (I usually hate house!), which I’m diggin’ a LOT but it’s only because the kits they give you are grimy, dirty, unique, and kinda make all the genres sound wicked no matter what (as long as your patterns are setup right, follow their videos the dude that hosts teaches you really fast and really well).

Official DUBturbo website: www.dubturbo.com

And you can import your own sounds easily.

Auto Quantize Your Recording – Notes Snap to The Right Spots!

All of the above is without a doubt great, but I think what makes DUBturbo stand out from the crowd and be on TOP, istheir video tutorials. The hardest part for a beginner is learning how to put all that stuff together to make your own beats that actually sound dope. Your first pattern that makes sense and makes your head bob forever with a smile…

That first melody you made, knowing where to place your notes, that first time you hit export and then listened to your .wav file knowing people are going to buy it/love it… With the DubTurbo training materials, that won’t be a problem for you and by the end of day one after watching a few videos and copying what they do, you’ll have done the above and more.

My Conclusion: Screw the haters out there, a) it’s $40 vs. $xxx – $x,xxx b) it has x,xxx samples which in my opinion is where the cake is (I’m learning how to use them with other samplers now too, shhh!), it does way more than a lot of the gear I was looking at in my music store re actual tangible beat makers and sequencers…

My newest routine usually includes making a few beats and variations of, then pulling them into other software to tie them together with my intro/outro or to make bigger loops from and master again. Most of my boyz that hear my beats all assume I must have picked up the motif or a k2000 or a triton… hehe $40!

CLICK HERE To See If The DubTurbo Special Is Still Running – If It Is GRAB IT Before You Close The Page

PS: If you go and the sale is over, if it’s still under $100 I’d grab it – and if you see the extra stuff once you’re in the members area and have a few more dollars left, don’t be shy to grab the extras (the sound pool is great!!!!!!!!!! But I’m not allowed to talk about that..). Anyway – thanks for reading guys, gals, parents, kids… DubTurbo gets a high 5 from me! The video on their homepage is great too it outlines the beatmaking world really well for new comers – go take a look >> Peace out and enjoy making your beats!

According to some people learning to play guitar is more difficult than it seems. I think that’s bullocks! Just watch the crazy amounts of videos, everyone is a “professional” guitar player… you could be too! All it takes is a little practice and with the right tools you could be showing off your skills to your family, friends, even strangers.

Imagine that with a little guidance and some motivation you can learn to play guitar in a very short period of time. You must be asking yourself… damn I would need to hire a teacher, take classes, sign up for different courses, buy all these e-books and so on…What if I told you that you could learn to play guitar from the comfort of your own home? You would probably say of course… so the teacher comes to my house right? I wonder how much that would cost. Well you figure the average cost per lesson is about $50 and because you have such natural talent, it only takes you 10 lessons to learn the basics. Of course that teacher will want to milk you out of another 10 lessons so he won’t teach you everything at once… he will stretch it out… leaving you about $1,000 in the hole. But you’re happy!! You learned to play guitar!

Now some time goes by, weeks, maybe months… maybe longer then you meet the woman of your dreams! She loves the fact that you could play a tune or two but the thing is you forgot… maybe some chords, maybe some melodies… whatever… so what do you do? You call back that “wonderful” teacher and hire him again to recap on what you previously learned… Hmmm… now you’re down another $200 for a refresher course… But it was worth it… because then you get married and live happily ever after! Now you have kids… they grow up fast… and your older son asks you for guitar lessons… So what do you do? Probably the same thing you did years ago…

There must be another way to learn to play guitar… there is you just haven’t found it yet… Now there are websites that offer subscriptions… courses… etc… and yes they are good! For about $100 a month you can learn to play guitar “like a pro”. Ha if I had a penny for every time I heard that one before, Carlos Slim would be my butler. But my question to you would be if you had a choice between a less expensive approach as opposed to all the “hyped” up products out there… what would you choose? All I am trying to say is do your research first before making a decision it’s not hard… try it… go ahead… I’ll wait…

Now because of all the possibilities out there you have a lot to choose from right? Try just one product and see if it would be better than using that great teacher for $50/lesson. I think products like Jamorama could be worth the amount of time you would spend to learn to play guitar… Just ask anyone who has used it they’ll tell you.

When we think of guitar lessons we have to think specifically. The best online guitar lessons are hard to find. There are plenty of choices especially with the way the internet has evolved. From subscription sites to just plain one time information the options are limitless.

We all remember the days when you looked for an instructor to come over and teach you one-on-one. It usually didn’t help you unless you were gifted. Even those that were “gifted” still had a hard time remembering things which required refresher courses. The instructor charged you about $50 per lesson and it took 20-30 lessons for you to learn the basics, after a while you forgot the basics and the process repeated itself again. It was a total waste of time and money… for most.

With the internet so evolved it is normal to find guitar courses online. To find the best online guitar lessons can be a challenge. From monthly subscription sites to just simple information books the choices are endless. Some people prefer live online lessons while others like videos, podcasts etc… Does it matter how much something costs? What is the difference between paying monthly as opposed to just one time? Obviously you have questions, I have answers.

Depending on how deep you want to get involved the monthly subscription is great for advanced guitarists. If you know your basics; signing up to monthly lessons can be a great way to really fine tune your skill. Typical eBooks with no support are probably the worst. You get no support in which I think is the key to learning anything let alone the guitar. It usually consists of text and gibberish you could probably find on any free to join site. The best way (which worked for me) was to find something that didn’t only provide the best online guitar lessons but also provide support. I looked for something visual… meaning lots of videos and tutorials. I also felt that I needed a community to help me with my learning process. From my extensive research I have found a few that can actually do that one of them being Jamorama. They focus on beginner tactics that teach you the basics of tuning, playing and chords all within a short amount of time.

Not everyone will like my approach to guitar lessons. Some still prefer to get home lessons with an instructor. Others will keep spending money on products that will not even get them past tuning a guitar. My opinion is just that… an opinion. I feel that to find the proper solution you need to do your research. Anyone can claim anything online; it’s up to you to find out which ones are the real deals and which ones are fake.

Many people that try the best online guitar lessons might still fail. If you’re not motivated and determined to succeed it won’t matter what course you pick. You need the strength to take that first step because once you do it will be that much easier going forward.

You can now teach yourself guitar from the comfort of your own home. It used to be that you had to go out and find an instructor that would come to your house sit with you for 2 hours a week and teach you how to play guitar. This method is now obsolete, even though some people still prefer this method of instruction most take the online route because it is cheaper, faster and more convenient for the beginner guitarist.

The online guitar learning experience is not what it used to be. There was once a time where you could get free lessons, the content and value those lessons had been amazing. Today, most websites that offer free lessons lack depth in content on their multi-faceted aspects of playing the guitar. It’s hard to find quality and detailed instruction on the web especially with all those wannabe “Gurus” that claim they know everything. Of course the price has changed too. With the economy the way it is it’s a lot harder to spend thousands of dollars on a hobby. Instructors could charge up to $50 dollars per lesson, some online courses charge per video, or per lesson. The cost can be a problem.

All you need is the right motivation and dedication to teach yourself guitar. With the right tools and people that you surround yourself with learning the guitar will be easier than it ever was. With dedicated communities and video tutorials on guitar lessons, you can be on your way to becoming a professional guitarist sooner than you think.

One thing we have to keep in mind is that learning the guitar is not an automatic process. It takes hard work, ambition and most importantly patience. A lot of people that start playing guitar give up way to soon because they think it’s too hard. If you don’t give yourself a push then it will be pointless to move on. Every beginner has his own way of getting through certain levels of instruction, it only depends on them if they succeed or not. Even with all the help, tutorials, lessons etc… people need to know that it’s just not that easy.

With the internet the way it is finding the right product or service for guitar lessons can be difficult. With communities like Jamorama you can teach yourself guitar, get support from other students and learn all there is to know about guitar playing. They aren’t your typical online source of information. Unlike free courses or even the very expensive ones, Jamorama concentrates on your individual learning capability and provides in depth tutorials for players of all classes. You can watch videos, talk to other people at the same level or experts on guitar playing. The information they provide is valuable not only to the players that use it but to the people that will benefit from that player as well. Whatever the reason may be for trying to teach yourself guitar it’s always good to remember why you decided to start learning.

There are many ways one can use to play guitar but the best way to learn guitar is probably the most popular right now, online. People all over the world have the opportunity to simply log onto a website and become a seasoned guitarist! But which one is better than the rest? Which one has the ability to teach you the basics quickly and effectively while making it a fun experience?

Let’s look back on how it used to be done. Traditionally you would look for someone to come by the house and sit with you for an hour or two teaching you one-on-one. That instructor would charge you an hourly wage, let’s say $50 an hour and come back frequently; it usually took 20-30 lessons for you to get the gist of things. The Instructor would insist that this would be the best way to learn guitar. Every lesson that you would receive you would practice what you learned during the week and then you would wait for that person to return, probably forgetting half the stuff you learned. That would mean he would have to spend another 30 min or so to refresh your memory.

Times have changed. With the internet being the way it is you can practically become anyone you ever want to be, from a mechanic to a brain surgeon from the comfort of your own home. Therefore the best way to learn guitar is online. With plenty of sites, blogs, videos and forums you can learn without leaving the house.

Trying to find the right source is difficult. You can easily be deceived if you go by cost; some sites charge a flat fee for a few information products while others charge a monthly fee for live feeds, one-on-one training etc… To make your decision even harder they don’t give you all of their information before you buy! You’re stuck taking a risk on it working or not.

My instructor days are over. The competition is ruthless and not as reputable. How do you really know that the person behind his product or service is honest and trustworthy…? You don’t, you take a risk. If it works, great, if it doesn’t your out X amount of cash and you move on to the next possible risk. I have been giving traditional guitar lessons for about 20 years and I’ve noticed that people want to learn quickly. With some of these products online they “guarantee” you learn the basics within a certain amount of lessons. That is not true! I think the best way to learn guitar is by your own pace. If it takes you 6 months to get the simple stuff, then it will take you 6 months. If you are a “quick” learner you can probably get it down pat by 2 months maybe 3. I personally think it is an ongoing process.

I recently joined up with Jamorama, now these guys know their stuff. They are not like the other so called “gurus” of guitar playing. They offer videos; DVD’s and even has a very active forum where you can share your ongoing success with other guitarists. It’s not a matter of “can I become a pro” it’s more like “when”.

It’s always good to remember that no matter where your journey takes you don’t give up. Be motivated and really try your best… you’d be surprised what can happen after a few lessons, especially in this day and age.

To learn guitar online, you need a little motivation to get you going. Sometimes people make the mistake in thinking that it’s hard. Trying to find the right learning resources can get difficult. We should take into consideration that the costs of such courses online can vary. Some will charge nothing, others could be more expensive than traditional one-n-one instructor lessons. Some will charge based on reputation others will charge based on what they think their skill is. Online courses for playing guitar are plenty, different forms of playing, different teachers, etc. It is up to the person that is looking to learn guitar online to find the best program available for them.

Utilizing some great sources to start the learning process could get expensive. There are a few products and lessons that can cost up to $1,000. Are people ok with spending that to learn guitar online? If they are committed to learning guitar online the cost should not matter but they all know that deep down it stings a little bit to fork over that kind of money for anything. There are people that can provide great knowledge and expertise that will guide you through the lessons, the mistakes, the ups and downs of learning guitar online.

People have said that one-on-one lessons aren’t that great. You usually try to get ahead of the instructor when he repeats a lot of his lessons. Skipping lessons doesn’t help either but people do that because they think they are ready to move on hence they don’t learn much. The websites that provide lessons at no cost are only good for the advanced player, it’s a common misconception that learning guitar online from free sources can be beneficial. It isn’t, as a matter of fact it’s worse for the beginners. If people want to learn guitar online the best sources for their success have to be researched. Some will like the video and eBook courses, some will like more interactive ways of learning. Some will stick to traditional methods, like one-on-one instruction.

Home based online courses are plenty, some are free some are expensive. It is up to the person that wants to learn guitar online to pick a product that is right for them. 10 years ago when you wanted to learn you searched for home instruction online or asked around your friends and family. Nowadays you can literally become a seasoned professional without leaving your home, without an instructor coming by or without paying lots of money.

Having said all that it is safe to say that people have to start somewhere. Jamorama can make the learning process simple. With over 200,000 students Jamorama is the leading provider in guitar courses online. If the beginning player wants to learn from the comfort of his own home and save thousands of dollars in tuition and instructor costs then taking this route is probably the best choice for them. They offer advanced courses as well. With DVD’s, tutorials and the interactive approach, people that want to learn guitar online do it faster, easier and with better results than the traditional ways that are offered.

So you want to learn how to play the guitar…I think we can both agree that it does take a lot of practice and perseverance, especially to get through the first couple of lessons. It can get a bit frustrating at times. One of the difficulties comes when you try to find the right learning resources for your individual learning style. You have to consider the costs involved for hiring an instructor or signing up for online lessons. I have been playing the guitar for about 10 years now and I have been through it all. What I’ve found as I’ve learned and then taught others is that for some it is important to get started with an instructor but for most it is better to find online training in some form or another. To know how to play the guitar you need to be committed to it. What I mean is to really want it, to be able to continue learning even when it gets really crazy.

There are a few good sources to start your learning process however they can get expensive. Some people can charge you up to $800 for lessons or online courses. Do you want to spend that much? I guess if you are committed to learning how to play the guitar you’d be ok with that cost. But I’m sure most of you haven’t thought about it that far. It’s ok though because there are people out there that provide you with not only some “guide” but also their expertise! Choices are plenty for everyone but to find something that really works you need to really do your research.

I can tell you from experience that one-on-one lessons SUCK! The instructor usually repeats his lessons and you always think of advancing on your own which gets you in trouble! If you skip some lessons because you “think” you are ready to move on, you don’t really learn anything and with home lessons it is difficult not to go ahead of yourself. There are plenty of sites that actually provide free lessons and those are good for people that already know how to play the guitar. They are not for beginners because they don’t teach you notes. They can teach you chords or ways of playing certain songs but if you don’t know the basics then those videos are pointless.

Before you decide on the best course or method for you to learn how to play guitar you have to fully understand what it is you want to accomplish. Is it just a one song for one girl type thing? Or do you want to play regularly? Do you want to play like a musician for money or just as a hobby? You have to establish your goals and objectives in learning guitar. Only then, will you be able to apply that knowledge to finding the right course for you. In any case if you are serious about pursuing the guitar and the many forms of music that comes with it be sure that you are ready to commit yourself. Only then will you know which path is right for you. Where ever your path takes you start with Jamorama. Who knows maybe that will be enough.

I think guitar lessons should be arranged with the absolute beginner in mind. Each lesson should build upon the things you have learned in the previous lesson. Guitar for beginners should always start with the proper handling of a guitar. You’d be surprised to know that most beginners don’t even know how to handle a guitar let alone play a couple of notes.

The most difficult task that a beginning guitarist faces is tuning the damn thing! Because it takes time to develop a sense of pitch your first few tries might not be so successful. Using an electric tuner might help. Playing in tune is that important!

Guitar for beginners is not as bad as it seems. I might sound like I know what I am talking about but I only played guitar for 20 years, so I don’t really know anything… Let me be straight up with you, another thing beginners assume is that the more expensive a guitar is the “better” it will sound and the “faster” they will learn. Not true, almost any guitar, acoustic or classical (nylon-stringed) are good for the beginner. If I were to choose for a beginner I would choose a Fender or Gibson. If you see a guitar for 50 bucks and its missing a few strings or maybe something else I would suggest you stay away from it.

Guitar lessons are EVERYWHERE! Everyone is a “guru” guitar player and they all claim they have the best guitar for beginner’s lesson plan. If that were really true do you think they would be wasting their time teaching YOU how to play? They want your money! $50-$100 per lesson, multiply that by 20 or 30 lessons and your stuck $3000 and know how to play Mary had a little lamb like a kid on a sugar rush.

Now there are FREE sites you can visit and watch videos of said “gurus” playing like Carlos Santana or Jimmi Hendrix, not realizing the fact that it’s probably prerecorded and auto-tuned to sound good. Yes they will “show” you how to play some chords and go through the sets of notes. Yes you will watch and attempt to do the same thing and most likely fail…This is NOT guitar for beginners it’s for seasoned professionals.

When I first learned how to play guitar I didn’t have access to the internet. My choices were books and street corners, listening to other upcoming artists trying to make a living. Now you can become a good guitar player from the comfort of your own home. Online guitar for beginners has totally revolutionized the way people learn to play guitar. There are plenty of sites that can teach you. It’s up to you to pick and choose the best one and stick with it!

For a beginner to actually find the right product online is like trying to look for a needle in a haystack. Usually it is trial and error for most, however some people that find something and STICK with it turn out to be pretty good guitarists. If you don’t want to spend all kinds of money you should do some research first… actually you’re probably doing it already if you’re reading this. Before you open your wallet to these “gurus” try to see what other people are saying about what it is you want to buy. READ through reviews, testimonials etc… Then you will be able to jump on the band wagon which I missed. Remember you have it easy now, Google can do wonders. Just type… read… decide… and start learning!

If you feel that the guitar is an interesting instrument go for it! Take a chance you never know what will happen, check out the Jamorama guitar course on your way to becoming a successful guitarist. I might just want to buy tickets to see you play, you never know! Good Luck!

Successfully learning how to play guitar for beginners is within the grasp of most people, yet many beginners give up too quickly. Frequently, quitting beginners will blame their lack of time to practice, that playing hurts their fingers or because they “thought” it was easy. The real problem is that they just don’t practice enough. If you are one of those people that think it’s a piece of cake ask other upcoming guitarists if it was just that easy. My hunch… it took willpower and motivation to become a successful guitarist.

Learning the names and functions of the guitar parts, and how they work together to make sounds will definitely give you an edge for when you’re ready to start playing. All it takes is a half hour to get acquainted with a guitar which will be repaid many times over throughout your learning experience.

How to play the guitar for beginners can be challenging not because they think it’s hard but because they already assume they won’t understand it. With the many different types of guitars it is always a good idea to play around with the bass, classical, tenor or electric guitar to get a feel for which one you think you might be best at.

Try to allow yourself to become frustrated. It will be a normal reaction to your first couple of tries. That chord you’ve been trying to voice cleanly for the past few days, or even weeks, will in time sound clear and distinct.

A lot of beginners like to go the one-on-one instructor route which is good if you can afford it. Some instructors can charge up to $70 bucks a lesson others do it cheaper but with more lessons… The downside is that you will want to move forward, advance quick, forgetting simple things learned in previous lessons.

Luckily thanks to the internet and its advancement you can find products and courses for a fraction of the cost. The problem with this is how do you know which one works and which one doesn’t? Well what would you do if you wanted to go see a movie? You would probably ask your friends or family if they saw it and then do some online searching and reading the reviews for that particular movie. Same thing would apply here. You would talk to other people that used the product and see if it was in fact helpful in any way.

Some products claim they offer testimonials and support but once you purchase it your left in the dark. You wrote 10 emails to the “support” team with no response, you tried to get in touch with anyone that actually used the product to no avail. Then you go out and spend another 50 bucks on some product that you think might be good.
